You will be responsible for overseeing multiple skilled nursing facilities in the Maryland/Virginia area.

    Organization looking to hire a full time Regional Director of Clinical Operations to routinely consult with assigned facilities throughout Maryland and Virginia . The ideal candidate will have at least five years prior experience as a Director of Nursing/Regional Nurse Consultant and/or Regional Director of Nursing in a long-term care environment.

    Summary:
    The Regional Director of Clinical Operations routinely engages with assigned facilities in regards to (but not limited to): resident care, State & Federal surveys, regulatory compliance, and clinical services. They will be responsible for driving clinical outcomes, assisting with clinical policies/procedures, completing mock surveys and plan of corrections on an as needed basis, while complying with State and Federal regulations as well as standards of care.

    Summary of essential job functions

    Assess & evaluate clinical services in assigned facilities to identify areas for clinical improvement.

    Completes and submits visit reports & audit results

    May need to assist the DON in reviewing candidates for RN Management positions.

    Schedules facility/regional visits based on facility issues and compliance needs.

    Schedules regional training / professional development meetings for DONs on a monthly basis.

    Establishes quarterly/annual performance improvement goals together with local & regional clinical staff.

    Promotes and ensures compliance with core values/ethics, policies/procedures & standards of practice.

    Provides assistance & support on an as needed basis throughout the survey process including: preparation for survey, writing a plan of correction & developing an action plan, and monitoring for compliance.

    Skills necessary

    Prior exp. as a DON/DNS or Regional Nurse Consultant REQUIRED.

    Candidate must possess a valid RN license

    Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nursing required.

    Experience in a Corporate / Regional role preferred.

    Exceptional interpersonal & leadership skills.

    Excellent knowledge of State & Federal guidelines.

    Travel required.

    Prefer as a minimum, 5 years(s) experience in a supervisory capacity in a long-term care facility.

    Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

    Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, clients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

    Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.

    Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation.

    Must be thoroughly familiar with state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines governing personnel administration.

    Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle clients, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

    Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

    Must be able to maintain good personnel relations and employee morale.

    Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment.

    Must be able to communicate policies, procedures, regulations, reports, etc., to personnel, clients, family members, visitors, and government agencies/personnel.
